On 30 January 2012, the press briefing introducing the Special Day of the Russia Forum 2012 ”Investing in Film, TV and New Media” will take place at the RIA Novosti conference hall. The briefing will be dedicated to media industry development in 2011, its current trends and predictions for 2012, as well as the specific nature of investing in media assets.

The press briefing will be attended by: Gor Nakhapetian, Managing Director, Troika Dialog, Dmitry Nesterov, General Director, Cinemotion Group, Oleg Ivanov, General Director, Movie Re-search, Nikita Trynkin, Managing Director, Bazelevs, Marina Zhigalova-Ozkan, General Director, The Walt Disney Company CIS, and Elena Romanova, Head of International Department, Cinema Fund.

The briefing participants will also be addressed via video message by Sandra Stern, COO, Li-onsgate Television (Los Angeles), one of the speakers of the Special Day panel discussion organ-ised as part of Russia Forum 2012.

The event participants will discuss topics such as media industry development in Russia and worldwide in 2011, the current trends on the Russian and international markets, as well as various ways of attracting private investments to the industry (based on the example of Bazelevs’ projects). General Director of Movie Research Oleg Ivanov, one of the press briefing participants and the moderator of “Government Support Policy for National Film Production and Distribution”, a workshop of the Special Day of the Russia Forum 2012, will talk about the impact of government support mechanisms on the investment appeal of national film projects. For the first time ever, this expert will present some of the film industry predictions for 2012, including key figures such as total box office, dynamics of cinema attendance, ticket price changes, and the share of Russian films in the annual box-office receipts.
