Vasiliy Bychkov
Director, Central House of Artists
Vasily Bychkov has led the Central House of Artists since 2002. He initiated a wide-ranging transformation of the exhibition complex from reconstruction of the building to reform of its exhibition activities. Under his leadership, the Central House of Artists became a platform for various projects in the organisation of exhibitions.
He was the author and initiator of the exhibition projects ART Moscow, Russian Antique Salon, ARKh Moscow, non/fiction and others. In 2001, he founded the first prize ceremony in Moscow covering modern non-commercial art entitled “Black Square”.
He is the founder and General Director of Expo-Park Exhibition Projects.
In 2004, he directed the creation and became the president of the only professional union of antique dealers – the International Confederation of Art and Antique Dealers.
Since 2009, he has led the Commission on Conservation and Development of National Culture of the Russian Public Chamber.
Mr Bychkov graduated from the Moscow Architecture Institute.
