Fund Manager, Clariden Leu
Thomas Rutz is the Head of the Clariden Leu Emerging Markets Department (Fixed Income, Equities & Currencies).
He has been managing assets since 1989 and is the Co-Manager of the CL (Gue) Emerging Markets Bond Fund, the CL (Lux) I – Emerging Markets Bond Fund, the CL (Lux) I – Emerging Markets Bond Fund Investment Grade and related segregated mandates. Mr Rutz is also the manager of the CL (Gue) Local Currencies EMMA Fund. He joined Clariden Leu in 2003 as a Senior Foreign Exchange and Interest Rates Trader and became responsible for foreign exchange and economic research in 2006. Prior to that, he spent six years at ABB Capital BV/ABB World Treasury Centre in Zurich, where he acted as Deputy Chief Trader and managed a team of proprietary traders. Mr Rutz also worked for two years as Chief Dealer for Capital Markets at The Bank of Bermuda, Hamilton. From 1985 to 1994, he held various proprietary trading-related positions at UBS in Zurich, London, New York, Chicago and Hong Kong.
Mr Rutz started his business career with the Graduates Training Programme for foreign exchange traders at UBS.
