Shaukat Aziz
Former Prime Minister of Pakistan
Shaukat Aziz is the former Prime Minister of Pakistan. Serving from 2004 to 2007, he became the nation’s first prime minister to complete a full term in office. During his tenure, Pakistan saw high economic growth, increased per capita income, a reduction in poverty, a surge in investment, and improved debt levels and economic indicators. Before serving as Prime Minister, he spent five years as Finance Minister. Prior to entering government, Mr Aziz held several positions for nearly 30 years at Citibank, including Chief Executive of its Global Wealth Management Business and Executive Vice President. A member of several boards and advisory boards for both commercial and nonprofit organisations, he speaks frequently on such topics as structural reforms, diplomacy, geopolitics and security.
Mr Aziz graduated from Gordon College, Rawalpindi, and received an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration at the University of Karachi.
