Deputy Chairman, The Central Bank of the Russian Federation
Sergei Shvetsov was born in 1970. In 1993, he graduated from the Lomonosov Moscow State University with a degree in economic cybernetics.
From 1993 to 1996, he Shvetsov worked as an economist, lead economist, and head of the division for international finance management at the Central Bank’s foreign operations department.
From 1996 to 2001, he was employed as deputy representative, representative and head of the representative office of Ost-West Handelsbank in Moscow.
From 2001 to 2003, Mr Shvetsov served as director of the Central Bank’s open market operations department.
From 2003 to 2011, he worked as director of the Central Bank’s department of financial market operations.
He was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank in February 2011 and sits on the bank’s BoD.
