Mark Cutis joined the Abu Dhabi Investment Council in March 2008 and is responsible for “Special Situations” Prior to that, he worked with Shinsei Bank from May 2004 in the newly created position of Chief Investment Officer for own account investments. He lived in Japan for six years.
Mr Cutis also worked with HVB, the Munich-headquartered German Bank (now UniCredit), originally hired at their New York branch as Treasurer for the Americas where he was also responsible for developing and directing HVB’s proprietary allocation to Alternative Investments. He was subsequently transferred to Tokyo as the CEO of HVB’s Japanese operations.
His core expertise is proprietary trading, ALM and asset allocation, and he has experience in direct “hands on management” of risk and risk takers, as well as allocating to external managers in alternatives. Mr Cutis also has experience of both the buy and sell sides. He has worked in New York, London, Frankfurt, Tokyo and is currently based in Abu Dhabi.
Mr Cutis has an MBA from the Wharton School and a BA in economics from Emory University.
