Sberbank

Sberbank today is the largest credit institution in Russia and CIS, accounting for 27% of Russian banking assets and 30% of banking capital. According to The Banker magazine, Sberbank was ranked number 40 in the world in terms of Tier 1 capital as of July 1, 2011.

As of November 1, 2011, Sberbank accounted for 47% of retail deposits, 31% of both consumer and corporate loans in Russia.

Sberbank’s is on track implementing its 5-year Development Strategy, approved in October 2008, with focus on developing the Bank’s potential, competitiveness, risk management , cost optimization and higher efficiency.

Sberbank has a countrywide branch network with 17 regional head offices and more than 18.5 thousand retail outlets with about 238,000 employees. Elsewhere, Sberbank operates subsidiary banks in Kazakhstan and Ukraine and Belarus, has representative offices in Germany and China and a branch in India. In the end of December 2011, Sberbank completed the purchase of a bank in Switzerland. Under its Development Strategy, Sberbank plans to generate about 5% of its net income outside Russia by 2014.
